Rhyme Scheme: A BCBCDEDC BFBFBCBF GHGHHHHH IHIHJJJH KBKBJJJB

A PhantasyA
-
-
I know not how I found youB
With your wild hair a blowC
Nor why the world around youB
Would never let me knowC
Perhaps 't was Heaven relentedD
Perhaps 't was Hell resentedE
My dream and grimly ventedD
Its hate upon me soC
-
In Shadowland I met youB
Where all dim shadows meetF
Within my heart I set youB
A phantom bitter sweetF
No hope for me to win youB
Though I with soul and sinewC
Strive on and on when in youB
There is no heart or heatF
-
Yet ever aye and everG
Although I knew you liedH
I followed on but neverG
Would your white form abideH
With loving arms stretched mewardH
As Sirens beckon seawardH
To some fair vessel leewardH
Before me you would glideH
-
But like an evil fairyI
That mocks one with a lightH
Now near you led your airyI
Now far your fitful flightH
With red gold tresses blowingJ
And eyes of sapphire glowingJ
With limbs like marble showingJ
You lured me through the nightH
-
To some unearthly revelK
Of mimes a motley crewB
'Twixt Angel land and DevilK
You lured me on I knewB
And lure me still soft whilingJ
The way with hopes beguilingJ
While dark Despair sits smilingJ
Behind the eyes of youB
