An Incident Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDDCEFBEFB

Here is a tale for men and women teachersA
There was a girl who'd ceased to be a maidenB
Who walked by night with heart like Lilith's ladenB
A child of sin anathemaed of preachersA
She had been lovely once but dye and scarletC
On hair and face had ravaged all her beautyD
Only her eyes still did her girl soul dutyD
Showing the hell that hounded her poor harlotC
One day a fisherman from out the riverE
Fished her pale body like a branch of willlowF
Or golden weed self murdered drowned and brokenB
The sight of it had made a strong man shiverE
And on her poor breast as upon a pillowF
A picture smiled a baby's like some tokenB
