Rhyme Scheme: AAABCCCD EEEFGGGF

Wide in the west a lakeA
Of flame that seems to shakeA
As if the Midgard snakeA
Deep down did breatheB
An isle of purple glowC
Where rosy rivers flowC
Down peaks of cloudy snowC
With fire beneathD

And there the Tower of NightE
With windows all a lightE
Frowns on a burning heightE
Wherein she sleepsF
Young through the years of doomG
Veiled with her hair's gold gloomG
The pale Valkyrie whomG
Enchantment keepsF
