A Song Of Cheer Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEDE FGFG HIHI GIGI JGJJ KLKL ABAB

Be of good cheer and have no fearA
Of Fortune or TomorrowB
To Hope's low whisper lend an earC
And turn away from SorrowB
-
Time out of mind the soul is blindD
To things God sends as blessingsE
And Fortune often proves unkindD
Merely in foolish guessingsE
-
Within the soul we bear the wholeF
Of Hell and also HeavenG
And 'twixt the two is set the goalF
Of dreams our lives have drivenG
-
What counts above all deeds is LoveH
And Friendship that rememberI
In heart beats keeps Life's record ofH
Its April and DecemberI
-
To every one come rain and sunG
And calm and stormy weatherI
What helps is not what Life has doneG
But Life and Love togetherI
-
Of sun and rain and joy and painJ
The web of Life is wovenG
And ever through it runs the skeinJ
Of Hope with strand unclovenJ
-
Now high in air it glitters fairK
Now dims beyond diviningL
But still the thread winds golden thereK
Although no longer shiningL
-
Be of good cheer and have no fearA
Of any care or sorrowB
The clouds at last will disappearA
And the sun will shine tomorrowB
