A Rose O' The Hills Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCD EFGGF HAIIA EJKKJ LHMNH OPHHQ

The hills look down on wood and streamA
On orchard land and farmB
And o'er the hills the azure grayC
Of heaven bends the livelong dayC
With thoughts of calm and stormD
-
On wood and stream the hills look downE
On farm and orchard landF
And o'er the hills she came to meG
Through wildrose brake and blackberryG
The hill wind hand in handF
-
The hills look down on home and fieldH
On wood and winding streamA
And o'er the hills she came alongI
Upon her lips a woodland songI
And in her eyes a dreamA
-
On home and field the hills look downE
On stream and vistaed woodJ
And breast deep with disordered hairK
Fair in the wildrose tangle thereK
A sudden space she stoodJ
-
O hills that look on rock and roadL
On grove and harvest fieldH
To whom God giveth rest and peaceM
And slumber that is kin to theseN
And visions unrevealedH
-
O hills that look on road and rockO
On field and fruited groveP
What now is mine of peace and restH
In you since entered at my breastH
God's sweet unrest of loveQ
