A Light In The Window Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCAADDEEAACCFFGG HHAA

Rain and wind and candlelightA
And let us pray a prayer to nightA
For every soul since life is briefB
Little of trouble and less of griefB
And set a light at the windowpaneC
To guide Love home through the night and rainC
Rain and wind and candlelightA
And what shall we pray again to nightA
For every life whose way is dimD
The grace of God and trust in HimD
A word a song till the tears be driedE
And Faith and Hope sit down besideE
Rain and wind and candlelightA
And one last prayer to pray to nightA
For every heart in the dark and rainC
To know its prayer is not in vainC
A door flung wide and a face aglowF
Love come back from the Long AgoF
Then let the rain and the wind withoutG
Threaten their worst and rave and shoutG
For who will care though the night is blackH
Love to his own has wandered backH
Has wandered back through the rain and nightA
Led home again by her candle's lightA
