A Daughter Of The States Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBA CDDC EFFE

She has the eyes of some barbarian QueenA
Leading her wild tribes into battle eyesB
Wherein th' unconquerable soul defiesB
And Love sits throned imperious and sereneA
-
And I have thought that Liberty aloneC
Among the mountain stars might look like herD
Kneeling to GOD her only emperorD
Kindling her torch on FREEDOM'S altar stoneC
-
For in her self regal with riches ofE
Beauty and youth again those Queens seem bornF
BOADICEA meeting scorn with scornF
And ERMENGARDE returning love for loveE
