A.d. Nineteen Hundred Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDDCCCCEFCEF

War and Disaster Famine and PestilenceA
Vaunt couriers of the Century that comesB
Behold them shaking their tremendous plumesC
Above the world where all the air grows denseD
With rumors of destruction and a senseD
Cadaverous of corpses and of tombsC
Predestined while like monsters in the gloomsC
Bristling with battle shadowy and immenseC
The Nations rise in wild apocalypseC
Where now the boast Earth makes of civilizationE
Its brag of Christianity In vainF
We seek to see them in the dread eclipseC
Of hell and horror all the devastationE
Of Death triumphant on his hills of slainF
