Young as a blossom's tenderness | F |
Her eyes that were both glad and sad | G |
Her cheeks and chin that dimples had | G |
Her mouth red ripe to kiss and kiss | H |

Three months passed by three moons of fire | I |
When in me sickened all desire | I |
And in its place a devil who | J |
Filled all my soul with deep disgust | K |
And on the victim of my lust | K |
Turned eyes of loathing swiftly grew | J |

I rose and leaning while I kept | L |
The dagger hid I kissed her hair | M |
And throat and when she smiled asleep | N |
Into her heart I drove it deep | N |
And left her dead still smiling there | M |
