A Broken Rainbow On The Skies Of May Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCDAEBAFGFFFFGFFHII FFHFJKLLJJMJA Broken rainbow on the skies of May | A |
Touching the dripping roses and low clouds | B |
And in wet clouds its scattered glories lost | C |
So in the sorrow of her soul the ghost | D |
Of one great love of iridescent ray | A |
Spanning the roses dim of memory | E |
Against the tumult of life's rushing crowds | B |
A broken rainbow on the skies of May | A |
A flashing humming bird among the flowers | F |
Deep coloured blooms its slender tongue and bill | G |
Sucking the syrups and the calyxed myrrhs | F |
Till being full of sweets away it whirrs | F |
Such was his love that won her heart's rich bowers | F |
To give to him their all their honied showers | F |
The bloom from which he drank his body's fill | G |
A flashing humming bird among the flowers | F |
A moon moth white that through long mists of fleece | F |
Moves amber girt into a bulk of black | H |
And lost to vision rims the black with froth | I |
A love that swept its moon like some great moth | I |
Across the heaven of her soul's young peace | F |
And smoothly passing in the clouds did cease | F |
Of time through which its burning light comes back | H |
A moon moth white that moves through mists of fleece | F |
A bolt of living thunder downward hurled | J |
Momental blazing from the piled up storm | K |
That instants out the mountains and the ocean | L |
The towering crag then blots the sight's commotion | L |
Love love that swiftly coming bared the world | J |
The deeps of life 'round which fate's clouds are curled | J |
And ceasing left all night and black alarm | M |
A bolt of living thunder downward hurled | J |
