To Revenita Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEDE FGFG HIHI JKJK LMLMN

When to the font this morn my lips I pressedA
A fairy's gift my fingers trembled o'erB
A sweeter prayer ne'er smile of angel blessedA
Nor gemmed a tiar that the priesthood woreC
-
The secret of they grief I may not knowD
Since that thy lips refuse the tale to tellE
Methinks dear child it was the sound of woeD
That woke an echo in my heart's deep wellE
-
The wail of a spirit that a yearning gropesF
In darkness for the sunlight that is fledG
A broken idol in secret wept and hopesF
Crushed hopes that are to thee as are the deadG
-
A tender memory ling'ring yet of whenH
Each bounding pulse beat faster with its joyI
A something that allured and won and thenH
With waking fled and years may not destroyI
-
The impress which it left upon thy brainJ
But seek thee child grief's ravaging to stayK
Thy tears might fall as falls the show'ring rainJ
They could not wash the heart's deep scars awayK
-
Repine thee not shroud not they faith in gloomL
Shrink not to meet a disappointment's frownM
Away beyond the narrow bordered tombL
Who here have borne the cross may wear the crownM
