I Give Thee Back My Heart Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEDE FGHG IJKJ LMNM

I give thee back thy fickle heartA
Thy faithless vows I've spurnedB
I bury deep the blighted hopesC
That in my bosom burnedB
-
Yet who had thought a brow so fairD
From guile so seeming freeE
A voice so sweet so winning rareD
So treacherous could beE
-
Who would have dreamed a form that seemedF
Proud Honor's templed shrineG
Could hold within an urn of sinH
A soul so false as thineG
-
Nor strange 'twould be if ne'er againI
Till age had wasted youthJ
That heart betrayed by such as thouK
Could trust in human truthJ
-
But go and though thy wiles no moreL
Will move my heart to strifeM
Canst glad thy vain soul with the thoughtN
That thou hast wrecked a lifeM
