WILLIAM CHILDS BREWER died Jan th aged years and GEORGE CLEVELAND BREWER aged years at Springfield Mass Feb thA
-
-
The noble boy amid his sportsB
Droop'd like a smitten flowerC
That feels the frost king's fatal shaftD
And withers in its bowerC
-
But then a younger darling sankE
In childhood's rosy bloomF
And those whose hearts were one from birthG
Were brothers in the tombF
-
Not in the tomb Ah no They roseH
Through Christ their Saviour's loveI
In his blest presence to cementJ
Their deathless bond of loveI
-
Are they not dwelling side by sideK
Have they not 'scaped the strifeL
The snares the sins the woes that stainM
This pilgrimage of lifeL
-
Oh heart of sorrowing Love be strongN
Tho' tenderest ties are rivenO
For do not earth's bereavments aidP
The angel chant of HeavenO
