In Memoriam. - Mrs. Payne, Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCDE CFGH IEJKLMNOPQRSTUVE

Wife of Right Rev Bishop PAYNE died at Monrovia LiberiaA
-
-
Oh true and faithful Twice ten earnest yearsB
Of mission toil in Afric's sultry climeC
Attest thy patience in thy Master's causeD
Thy self denial and humilityE
-
Now neath the shadow of the princely palmC
And where Liberia's church crown'd summits riseF
Are sighs from sable bosoms swelling deepG
With gratitude for all thy hallow'd careH
-
The Prelate unto whom thy heart of heartsI
Was link'd so tenderly who found in theeE
Solace for exile from his native shoreJ
Laments thy loss as the lone hours go byK
He mourns thee deepest for he knew thee bestL
Thy purity thy sublimated searchM
For added holiness With angel handN
Press thou thy pattern on us we who dwellO
Amid the fullness of the bread from HeavenP
Forgetful of our heathen brother's needQ
Now thou dost sweetly sleep where pain and woeR
Follow thee not Their trial time is o'erS
Their discipline perfected For thy willT
Was subjugated to the Will DivineU
And through a dear Redeemer's strength thy soulV
Hath won the victoryE
