They multiply above with whom we walk'dB
In tender friendship and whose steadfast stepC
Onward and upward was a guide to usD
In duty's pathE
-
They multiply aboveF
Making the mansions that our Lord preparedG
And promised His redeemed more beautifulH
To us the wayside pilgrimsI
-
One this dayJ
Hath gone whose memory like a loving smileK
Lingereth behind her She was skilled to charmL
And make her pleasant home a cloudless sceneM
Of happiness to children and to guestsN
But most to him whose heart for many yearsO
Did safely trust in her finding his caresP
Divided and his pleasures purifiedQ
A sweet voiced kindness prompting word and deedR
Dwelt ever with her and when hours of painS
Narrowed the scope of her activitiesT
Its radiance comforted the friends who cameU
To comfort herV
-
With soul serenely calmW
She felt the cherished ties of earth recedeR
That long had bound her in such fond controlX
And with a hymn upon her whitening lipY
A thrilling cadence tremulously sweetZ
Into the valley of the shade of deathA2
Entered unshrinkinglyX
-
How blest to riseB2
With song of praise unto that tuneful choirV
Whose harps are ne'er unstrung and have no toneC2
Of weary dissonanceD2
-
The rose of JuneE2
Was in its flushing and a few brief moonsF2
Had cast upon her lovely daughter's graveG2
Their hallowed lustre when we laid so lowX
Her perishable part seeming to hearH2
Their chant of welcome unto whom the SunI2
No more goes down and partings are unknownC2
