In Memoriam. - Mrs. Elizabeth Harris, Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCDDDC EFGGGF HIJJJI KLGGGL

Died at Hartford Sunday evening September th agedA
-
-
Oh sorrowing Daughter left aloneB
In home's deserted sphereC
Where every object group'd aroundD
In pleasant room or garden's boundD
Is twined by links of sight or soundD
With the lost Mother dearC
-
Yet take sweet thoughts thy grief to sootheE
Of what she was belowF
Her years to faithful duty givenG
Her comfort in the Book of HeavenG
Her ready trust when life was rivenG
To Christ her Lord to goF
-
And take sweet memories of the careH
That smoothed her couch of painI
The grateful love that o'er her wayJ
Kept tender vigil night and dayJ
And let its pure reflected rayJ
Thy drooping heart sustainI
-
So shall thy faith the pang assuageK
That heaves thy mourning breastL
For nearer brings each setting sunG
Their blessed meeting who have wonG
The plaudit of the Judge Well doneG
Come enter to my restL
