Died at Hartford August thA
-
-
The beauteous brow the form of graceB
With all their youthful charmsC
The hand that woke the pencil's powerD
And bore to penury's lowly bowerD
The never wearied almsE
-
The sweet sweet voice that duly cheer'dF
A grateful Sabbath trainG
The uprais'd eye that taught them moreH
Of Heaven than all their student loreH
Must ne'er return againI
-
She took her flight as from the cageJ
Enfranchised warblers glideK
Though friends were dear and life was fairL
She saw her Saviour standing thereL
Beyond rough Jordan's tideK
-
Praise praise to Him whose faithful handM
Prepared her glorious placeB
For us is loss for her releaseN
The robe of rest the home of peaceN
For us the pilgrim raceB
-
Praise praise for her though love and griefO
Still mournful vigil keptP
The tear wet incense He will takeQ
Who at the grave for friendship's sakeQ
In holy sadness weptP
