At Summer's morning ray | C |
And sadly mark'd a vacant seat | I |
Where erst in storm or cold or heat | I |
While lustrums held their way | C |

Was ever seen with reverent air | J |
Intent on hallow'd lore | K |
A forehead edg'd with silver hair | J |
A manly form bow'd low in prayer | J |
They greet our eyes no more | K |

And where Philanthropy commands | L |
Her lighted lamp to burn | M |
And youthful feet inured to stray | C |
Are wisely warn'd to duty's way | C |
Repentant to return | M |
