Rhyme Scheme: A BCDC EFGF HIJI KLML NOPO QRST

Son of C TALCOTT Esq died at Hartford October th aged years and monthsA
-
-
There came a merry voiceB
Forth from those lips of roseC
As tireless through its fringing flowersD
The tuneful brooklet flowsC
-
And with the nurslings feetE
Engaged in busy playF
It made the parents' pleasant homeG
A joyance all the dayF
-
There breath'd a languid toneH
Forth from those pallid lipsI
As when some planet of the nightJ
Sinks in its dread eclipseI
-
Sing to me sing it criedK
While the red fever reign'dL
Oh sing of Jesus it imploredM
While struggling life remainedL
-
Then rose a mournful soundN
The solemn funeral knellO
And silent anguish settled whereP
The nursery's idol fellO
-
But he who so desiredQ
His Saviour's name to hearR
Doth in His glorious presence smileS
Above this cloud wrapp'd sphereT
