Twilight In The Garden Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBCA DEDCCCCE FGHFGFIIH JKLLJK

The scent of the earth is moist and goodA
In the dewy shadeB
Of the tall dark poplars whose slender topsC
Against the sunset bloom are laidB
And a robin is whistling in the copseC
By the dim spruce woodA
-
The west wind blowing o'er branch and flowerD
Out of the woldE
Steals through the honeysuckle bowerD
And bears away on its airy wingsC
Odors that breath of paradiseC
Dim are the poppies' splendid dyesC
But many a pallid primrose swingsC
Its lamp of goldE
-
A white moth flits from tree to treeF
Like a wandering soulG
Deep in the lily a muffled boomH
Tells of a honey drunken beeF
Wildered with sweets in that ivory bowlG
Many a subtle melodyF
Many a rare sound all unknownI
To the lusty daylight's fuller toneI
Threads with its magic this hush and gloomH
-
Many a dear thought deep in the heartJ
Many a memory dulcet and fineK
Wakes as we walk in the garden to nightL
In this soft kissing of dark and lightL
When the world has drawn itself apartJ
From our spirit's shrineK
