The Garden In Winter Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCC DDEEFF GGHHII JJJKJJ

Frosty white and cold it liesA
Underneath the fretful skiesA
Snowflakes flutter where the redB
Banners of the poppies spreadB
And the drifts are wide and deepC
Where the lilies fell asleepC
-
But the sunsets o'er it throwD
Flame like splendor lucent glowD
And the moonshine makes it gleamE
Like a wonderland of dreamE
And the sharp winds all the dayF
Pipe and whistle shrilly gayF
-
Safe beneath the snowdrifts lieG
Rainbow buds of by and byG
In the long sweet days of springH
Music of bluebells shall ringH
And its faintly golden cupI
Many a primrose will hold upI
-
Though the winds are keen and chillJ
Roses' hearts are beating stillJ
And the garden tranquillyJ
Dreams of happy hours to beK
In the summer days of blueJ
All its dreamings will come trueJ
