The Choice Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBAB CDEECE FFGHFG IIJJIJ

Life come to me in no pale guise and ashenA
I care not for thee in such placid fashionA
I would share widely LifeB
In all thy joy and strifeB
Would sound thy deeps and reach thy highest passionA
With thy delight and with thy suffering rifeB
-
Whether I bide with thee in cot or palaceC
I would drink deeply Life of thy great chaliceD
Even to its bitter leesE
Yea shrinking not from theseE
Since out of bitterness come strength and solaceC
And wisdom is not won in slumberous easeE
-
Wan peace uncolored days were a poor favorF
To lack great pain and love were to lack savorF
Life take the heart of meG
And fill it brimminglyH
No matter with what poignant brew or flavorF
So that it may not shrunk and empty beG
-
Yea Life thus would I live nor play at livingI
The best of me for thy best gladly givingI
With an unfaltering cheerJ
Greeting thee year by yearJ
Even in thy dourest mood some good achievingI
Until I read thy deep hid meaning clearJ
