Sea Sunset Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDD EFEGBB HIHJKK LDLDDD

A gallant city has been builded farA
In the pied heavenB
Bannered with crimson sentinelled by starA
Of crystal evenC
Around a harbor of the twilight glowingD
With jubilant waves about its gateways flowingD
-
A city of the Land of Lost DelightE
On seas enchantedF
Presently to be lost in mist moon whiteE
And music hauntedG
Given but briefly to our raptured visionB
With all its opal towers and shrines elysianB
-
Had we some mystic boat with pearly oarH
And wizard pilotI
To guide us safely by the siren shoreH
And cloudy isletJ
We might embark and reach that shining portalK
Beyond which linger dreams and joys immortalK
-
But we may only gaze with longing eyesL
On those far sparklingD
Palaces in the fairy peopled skiesL
O'er waters darklingD
Until the winds of night come shoreward roamingD
And the dim west has only gray and gloamingD
