Off To The Fishing Ground Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGF HIJIKLML NBOBDPQP RSTSUFVF

There's a piping wind from a sunrise shoreA
Blowing over a silver seaB
There's a joyous voice in the lapsing tideC
That calls enticinglyD
The mist of dawn has taken flightE
To the dim horizon's boundF
And with wide sails set and eager heartsG
We're off to the fishing groundF
-
Ho comrades mine how that brave wind singsH
Like a great sea harp afarI
We whistle its wild notes back to itJ
As we cross the harbor barI
Behind us there are the homes we loveK
And hearts that are fond and trueL
And before us beckons a strong young dayM
On leagues of glorious blueL
-
Comrades a song as the fleet goes outN
A song of the orient seaB
We are the heirs of its tingling strifeO
Its courage and libertyB
Sing as the white sails cream and fillD
And the foam in our wake is longP
Sing till the headlands black and grimQ
Echo us back our songP
-
Oh 'tis a glad and heartsome thingR
To wake ere the night be doneS
And steer the course that our fathers steeredT
In the path of the rising sunS
The wind and welkin and wave are oursU
Wherever our bourne is foundF
And we envy no landsman his dream and sleepV
When we're off to the fishing groundF
