My Legacy Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABA ABA ABA ABA ABAA

My friend has gone away from meA
From shadow into perfect lightB
But leaving a sweet legacyA
-
My heart shall hold it long in feeA
A grand ideal calm and brightB
A song of hope for ministryA
-
A faith of unstained purityA
A thought of beauty for delightB
These did my friend bequeath to meA
-
And more than even these can beA
The worthy pattern of a whiteB
Unmarred life lived most graciouslyA
-
Dear comrade loyal thanks to theeA
Who now hath fared beyond my sightB
My friend has gone away from meA
But leaving a sweet legacyA
