Fancies Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AA BB BB BB CC BB DD EE AA

Surely the flowers of a hundred springsA
Are simply the souls of beautiful thingsA
-
The poppies aflame with gold and redB
Were the kisses of lovers in days that are fledB
-
The purple pansies with dew drops pearledB
Were the rainbow dreams of a youngling worldB
-
The lily white as a star apartB
Was the first pure prayer of a virgin heartB
-
The daisies that dance and twinkle soC
Were the laughter of children in long agoC
-
The sweetness of all true friendship yetB
Lives in the breath of the mignonetteB
-
To the white narcissus there must belongD
The very delight of a maiden's songD
-
And the rose all flowers of the earth aboveE
Was a perfect rapturous thought of loveE
-
Oh surely the blossoms of all the springsA
Must be the souls of beautiful thingsA
