I walked to day but not aloneA
Adown a windy sea girt leaB
For memory spendthrift of her charmC
Peopled the silent lands for meB

The faces of old comradeshipD
In golden youth were round my wayE
And in the keening wind I heardF
The songs of many an orient dayE
-
And to me called from out the pinesG
And woven grasses voices dearH
As if from elfin lips should fallI
The mimicked tones of yesteryearH
-
Old laughter echoed o'er the leasJ
And love lipped dreams the past had keptK
From wayside blooms like honeyed beesJ
To company my wanderings creptK
-
And so I walked but not aloneA
Right glad companionship had IL
On that gray meadow waste betweenM
Dim litten sea and winnowed skyL
