The Indian Cupid Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDDEFGGH IIJJKK LLMI NNOPJQR

Who is he that swiftly comesA
In the lovely silence of nightB
I know him by his sparkling plumesC
That shine in the clear moonlightB
By the scarlet wings of his soaring birdD
And the ceaseless music round him heardD
I know him by his arrowsE
And by his blossom'd bowF
By the forms of radiant beauty that bearG
And softly wave in the perfumed airG
His standard to and froH
-
Often and long on the summer seaI
In the moonlight have I watched for theeI
When the glittering beam was downward thrownJ
And each wave with a crest of diamond shoneJ
I have seen the thin clouds sail alongK
And I raised to welcome thee many a songK
-
-
But long have I lingered and watch'd in vainL
To see the light of the starry trainL
Sweep in beauty across the skyM
To tones of heavenly harmonyI
-
-
Now I behold thee now 'tis the hourN
Yes thou art come in thy splendour and powerN
But no the vision is passing onO
The bright forms vanish one by oneP
On the desolate shore I am left aloneJ
Yet stay oh stay like lightning they moveQ
To well by thy fleetness I know thou art LoveR
