Memory Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCDC EFEF GHIH JKLK CMNM OPOP

JuneA
-
-
The high grass waves with varied huesB
Of wild flowers glowing 'mid the greenC
The woods have caught a deeper shadeD
And darkly skirt the distant sceneC
-
The white throat sings from every brakeE
The blackbird breathes a sweet replyF
The lark's shrill fairy notes awakeE
The echoes of his native skyF
-
The pale wild rose is blushing nearG
And clinging tendrils round it twineH
That throw their gay and graceful wreathsI
In many a varied waving lineH
-
There tremble on the slender stemJ
The barley's rich and bending headsK
And here the pea in winged bloomL
Along the air its fragrance shedsK
-
I cannot smile though all the sceneC
Is gay in Nature's brightest guiseM
I think on hours that once have beenN
And clouds o'er all the landscape riseM
-
-
And can no charm that nature knowsO
The fatal power of grief destroyP
Ah no in vain each beauty glowsO
When mem'ry has no gleam of joyP
