Father's Boat Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBBBB CBDBEB BBFBEB ABEBGB

IT'S Father's boat we're watchingA
Away out on the seaB
She's named the Pretty PollyB
One hundred and ninety threeB
Father called her the PollyB
After Mother and meB
-
There isn't a smarter boatC
Than Father's on the seaB
The Pretty Polly is our shipD
Father's the skipper is heB
And we are watching for FatherE
We're watching Nancy and meB
-
Sometimes the wind blows wildlyB
But Nancy and Mother and meB
We sing a bit of a hymn we knowF
The hymn for those at seaB
Although when we think of FatherE
We're as near to choke as can beB
-
To night the moon will be shiningA
A sight it will be to seeB
Father's ship all in silverE
A'sail on a silver seaB
And Father himself a coming homeG
To Mother and Nancy and meB
