Misunderstood Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB BBCC DDBB EEBB FFBB GHBB IIBB CCBB JKBB

The ills of all the human raceA
The woes of earth that bring disgraceA
Would banish if we only couldB
Escape the fiend MisunderstoodB
-
When Eve and Adam pure and goodB
The law divine misunderstoodB
A downward course was then begunC
A race that all the earth must runC
-
The thought is sad indeed though trueD
That sinners reap in season dueD
The fruits of all they sow and shouldB
For down in hell they're understoodB
-
The infidels of giant brainE
Would save themselves a deal of painE
By claiming truth if such they couldB
But they alas misunderstoodB
-
The wars that devastate the landF
The reason men for wrong will standF
They have somewhere in seeking goodB
The law of right misunderstoodB
-
In harshness do we estimateG
The neighbors oft we underrateH
The scene would change it nature couldB
The monster bare MisunderstoodB
-
The Negro Problem of the timesI
Which breeds the most atrocious crimesI
Survives because in crushing goodB
The Golden rule's misunderstoodB
-
The Savior's work on earth was oneC
Of building up where sin had runC
He gave to all the highest goodB
But passed through life misunderstoodB
-
We long to rest when time is o'erJ
In that beyond for evermoreK
The habitation of the goodB
Above the fiend MisunderstoodB
