A Day Like Any Other Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCCDEFGHIJKLFMNOPQ RSC

Such insignificance a glanceA
at your record on the doctor's deskB
or a letter not meant for youC
How could you have known It's not trueC
that your life passes before youC
in rapid motion but your watchD
suddenly ticks like an amplified heartE
the hands freezing against a whiteF
that is a judgment Otherwise nothingG
The face in the mirror is still yoursH
Two men pass on the sidewalkI
and do not stare at your windowJ
Your room is silent the plantsK
locked inside their mysterious livesL
as always The queen of the nightF
refuses to bloom does not acceptM
your definition It makes no senseN
your scanning the street for a traffic snarlO
a new crack in the pavementP
a flag at half mast signsQ
of some disturbance in the worldR
because your friend the morning sunS
has turned its dark side toward youC
