The Poor Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCC DEFE GCHC IJKJ

Few save the poor feel for the poorA
The rich know not how hardB
It is to be of needful foodC
And needful rest debarredC
-
Their paths are paths of plenteousnessD
They sleep on silk and downE
And never think how heavilyF
The weary head lies downE
-
They know not of the scanty mealG
With small pale faces roundC
No fire upon the cold damp hearthH
When snow is on the groundC
-
They never by the window leanI
And see the gay pass byJ
Then take their weary task againK
But with a sadder eyeJ
