Revenge Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHIH AJAJ KLKL MNON PHPH QRQS

Ay gaze upon her rose wreathed hairA
And gaze upon her smileB
Seem as you drank the very airA
Her breath perfumed the whileB
-
And wake for her the gifted lineC
That wild and witching layD
And swear your heart is as a shrineC
That only owns her swayD
-
'Tis well I am revenged at lastE
Mark you that scornful cheekF
The eye averted as you pass'dE
Spoke more than words could speakF
-
Ay now by all the bitter tearsG
That I have shed for theeH
The racking doubts the burning fearsI
Avenged they well may beH
-
By the nights pass'd in sleepless careA
The days of endless woeJ
All that you taught my heart to bearA
All that yourself will knowJ
-
I would not wish to see you laidK
Within an early tombL
I should forget how you betray'dK
And only weep your doomL
-
But this is fitting punishmentM
To live and love in vainN
Oh my wrung heart be thou contentO
And feed upon his painN
-
Go thou and watch her lightest sighP
Thine own it will not beH
And bask beneath her sunny eyeP
It will not turn on theeH
-
'Tis well the rack the chain the wheelQ
Far better hadst thou provedR
Ev'n I could almost pity feelQ
For thou art nor belovedS
