Portrait Of A Lady. By Sir Thomas Lawrence Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFF GGHHIIJJKLAAMNOO

LADY thy lofty brow is fairA
Beauty's sign and seal are thereA
And thy lip is like the roseB
Closing round the bee's reposeB
And thine eye is like a starC
But blue as the sapphires' areC
Beautiful patrician thouD
Wearest on thy stately browD
All that suits a noble raceE
All of high born maiden's graceE
Who is there could look on theeF
And doubt thy nobilityF
-
Round thee satin robe is flungG
Pearls upon thy neck are hungG
And upon thy arm of snowH
Rubies like red sun gifts glowH
Yet thou wearest pearl and gemI
As thou hadst forgotten themI
'Tis a step but made to treadJ
O'er Persian web or flower's headJ
Soft hand that might only moveK
In the broider'd silken gloveL
Cheek unused to ruder airA
Than what hot house rose might bearA
One whom nature only meantM
To be queen of the tournamentN
Courtly fete and lighted hallO
Grace and ornament of allO
