Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFG HIJI

AY screen thy favourite dove fair childA
Ay screen it if you mayB
Yet I misdoubt thy trembling handC
Will scare the hawk awayB
-
That dove will die that child will weepD
Is this their destinieE
Ever amid the sweets of lifeF
Some evil thing must beG
-
Ay moralize is it not thusH
We've mourn'd our hope and loveI
Alas there's tears for every eyeJ
A hawk for every doveI
