April On The Battlefields Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

April now walks the fields againA
Trailing her tearful leavesB
And holding all her frightened buds against her heartC
Wrapt in her clouds and mistsD
She walksE
Groping her way among the graves of menA
-
The green of earth is differently greenF
A dreadful knowledge trembles in the grassG
And little wide eyed flowers die too soonH
There is a stillness hereI
After a terror of all raving soundsJ
And birds sit close for comfort upon the boughsK
Of broken treesL
-
April thou griefM
What of thy sun and glad high windN
Thy valiant hills and woods and eager brooksO
Thy thousand petalled hopesP
The sky forbids thee sorrow AprilQ
And yetR
I see thee walking listlesslyS
Across those scars that once were joyous sodT
Those gravesU
Those stepping stones from life to lifeV
-
Death is an interruption between two heart beatsW
That I knowX
Yet know not how I knowX
But April mournsY
Trailing her tender greenF
The passion of her greenF
Across the passion of those fearful fieldsZ
-
Yes all the fieldsZ
No barrier hereI
No challenge in the nightA2
No stranger landB2
She passes with her perfect countersignF
Her greenF
She wanders in her mournful gardenF
Dropping her buds like tearsC2
Spreading her lovely grief upon the graves of manF
