MaybeA
I would have been happierB
In timeC
-
The change would have become excitingD
Brightening the days to comeE
EventuallyA
Experiencing contentF
Indulging in the love I longed forG
-
Maybe in timeC
I would master healing forgiveness trustH
-
If I stayed Oh my darlingD
With experienceI
The only outcome for ours would have been the worst kindJ
Fabricating being the butter on our own breakfast tableK
More dents covering the figures of my youngL
Worshipping defamation as the source of our very existenceI
With a pinch of scolds and castigationsI
-
If I stayed surely in timeC
I would have reached the brimM
Growing dark with tension feeding on frustration wielding anger rage and thenN
hatredO
My dwelling overtaken by neglectP
Thorns growing on every corner of my very bed from tear drops of sadnessI
Digging into my fleshQ
Sucking the soul off my heartR
My existence diminishing evaporatingD
Fighting only for survivalK
Gasping contending with unholy airS
As I become colder for I would be engulfed in darknessI
Cushioned within the four corners of a restricting structureB
-
If I stayed my loveT
I would be existing only under the footing of your own smilesI

Poet's note: It was an intense argument in myself, to confirm whether I'd taken the right decision to end a unhealthy marriage. A reminder of how things used to be.
