Youth Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF EF

I am not sure if I knew the truthA
What his case or crime might beB
I only know that he pleaded YouthA
A beautiful golden pleaB
-
Youth with its sunlit passionate eyesC
Its roseate velvet skinD
A plea to cancel a thousand liesC
Or a thousand nights of sinD
-
The men who judged him were old and greyE
Their eyes and their senses dimF
He brought the light of a warm Spring dayE
To the Court house bare and grimF
-
Could he plead guilty in a lovelier wayE
His judges acquitted himF
