The Lady's Resolve Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BBCCDDEEFFF

Written on a window soon after her marriageA
-
-
Whilst thirst of praise and vain desire of fameB
In every age is every woman's aimB
With courtship pleas'd of silly toasters proudC
Fond of a train and happy in a crowdC
On each proud fop bestowing some kind glanceD
Each conquest owing to some loose advanceD
While vain coquets affect to be pursuedE
And think they're virtuous if not grossly lewdE
Let this great maxim be my virtue's guideF
In part she is to blame that has been try'dF
He comes too near that comes to be deny'dF
