| Are shadows not heartshakening issues | B |
| So I will not talk about them | C |

| I will sing only of the glories | D |
| I will talk about the other things | E |

| I will sing about the citizens' | F |
| ribs painted out by foodlessness | F |
| Citizens' eyes zipped for phobia of | G |
| witnessing wind scattered shells | F |
| penetrating human flesh | H |

| I will talk only about | I |
| the missing lives exiled pens | F |
| Lone red tops feasted on by maggots | F |
| Some trapped behind bars | F |
| And the other mewed like dogs | F |

| So I will not talk about them | C |
| How can we we lament these things | F |
| without rivers streaming down our cheeks | F |
| Anger piled and buried in our hearts | F |
| Nowonder we are tongue tied | J |

| These are tipsy sights | F |
| That flog my eyes when I sip | K |
