And the cool breezes of the Southwest Kigezi | D |

Soils thirsting in the highlands of Moroto | C |
Trees falling and dying in Mabira | F |
In the hands of investment loving | G |

Only that and I | H |
Can sing of the walking sin of slavery | F |
And the wailing clouds of laughter gone | I |

I am a Ugandan | A |
I am a lyrical piece of the Kitagururo fork song | J |
And a Gishu Imbaru of the men fierce strong | J |

My roots stand firm in the quiet heart of Buganda kingdom | K |
I am a true fruit of the warrior men and women | A |
who invaded Bunyoro land | C |

I am a voice of the the thousand tribes of | L |
the ethnic groups that speak trillion tongues | D |
My blood has frozen on Margarita | C |
the highest of Rwenzori | F |

My face springs with a smile for my Pearl | M |
My pride flows with Nile the longest of Rivers | D |
My joy climbs Elgon and Muhavura the | C |
home of golden monkeys | D |

My strength springs on the falls of Sipi | N |
And I owe my living to the Savannahs | D |
That define the face of my ancestral land | C |

Today tomorrow it feels good to be a Ugandan | A |
