I am a UgandanA
And nothing can break that eloquenceB
-
I praise my being to the landC
Disappearing stars of days and nightsD
Boiling suns of the far Northeast KaramojaE
And the cool breezes of the Southwest KigeziD
-
Soils thirsting in the highlands of MorotoC
Trees falling and dying in MabiraF
In the hands of investment lovingG
-
Only that and IH
Can sing of the walking sin of slaveryF
And the wailing clouds of laughter goneI
-
I am a UgandanA
I am a lyrical piece of the Kitagururo fork songJ
And a Gishu Imbaru of the men fierce strongJ
-
My roots stand firm in the quiet heart of Buganda kingdomK
I am a true fruit of the warrior men and womenA
who invaded Bunyoro landC
-
I am a voice of the the thousand tribes ofL
the ethnic groups that speak trillion tonguesD
My blood has frozen on MargaritaC
the highest of RwenzoriF
-
I am a UgandanA
My face springs with a smile for my PearlM
My pride flows with Nile the longest of RiversD
My joy climbs Elgon and Muhavura theC
home of golden monkeysD
-
My strength springs on the falls of SipiN
And I owe my living to the SavannahsD
That define the face of my ancestral landC
-
Today tomorrow it feels good to be a UgandanA
I know the West dare laugh at meF
when I say I am a UgandanA
But I shall sing I am a UgandanA
-
And I shall stand proud to proclaim I am aC
