Intertwined Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEF AGBHIG

Two livesA
Stemmed from the same rootB
Branch out in two different directionsC
In a race to catch the light that lights all that liveD
These two must stretch out their leavesE
to catch every ray of opportunity grinning at themF
-
Two livesA
independent of each otherG
But sourced from the same rootB
Would they live forever apartH
Or the winds whisper a kind roarI
That they may embrace each otherG

Poet's note: In intertwined, King Davey speaks of his relationship with his long time friend, Ayomide Nejo. He likens their lives to that of two branches coming out from the same root but growing away in different directions. He ends the poem with a sought of prayer: That by some chance they'd be more than they are already. That they would be lovers.
