The strong shore is my belovedA
And I am his sweetheartB
We are at last united by love andC
Then the moon draws me from himD
I go to him in haste and departB
Reluctantly with manyE
Little farewellsF
-
-
I steal swiftly from behind theG
Blue horizon to cast the silver ofH
My foam upon the gold of his sand andC
We blend in melted brillianceI
-
-
I quench his thirst and submerge hisJ
Heart he softens my voice and subduesJ
My temperK
At dawn I recite the rules of love uponL
His ears and he embraces me longinglyE
-
-
At eventide I sing to him the song ofH
Hope and then print smooth hisses uponL
His face I am swift and fearful but heE
Is quiet patient and thoughtful HisJ
Broad bosom soothes my restlessnessJ
-
-
As the tide comes we caress each otherK
When it withdraws I drop to his feet inM
PrayerN
-
-
Many times have I danced around mermaidsJ
As they rose from the depths and restedO
Upon my crest to watch the starsJ
Many times have I heard lovers complainP
Of their smallness and I helped them to sighQ
-
-
Many times have I teased the great rocksJ
And fondled them with a smile but neverK
Have I received laughter from themR
Many times have I lifted drowning soulsJ
And carried them tenderly to my belovedA
Shore He gives them strength as heE
Takes mineS
-
-
Many times have I stolen gems from theG
Depths and presented them to my belovedA
Shore He takes them in silence but stillT
I give fro he welcomes me everK
-
-
In the heaviness of night when allU
Creatures seek the ghost of Slumber IQ
Sit up singing at one time and sighingV
At another I am awake alwaysJ
-
-
Alas Sleeplessness has weakened meE
But I am a lover and the truth of loveH
Is strongW
I may be weary but I shall never dieQ
