In the depth of my soul there isA
A wordless song a song that livesB
In the seed of my heartC
It refuses to melt with ink onD
Parchment it engulfs my affectionE
In a transparent cloak and flowsF
But not upon my lipsG
-
-
How can I sigh it I fear it mayH
Mingle with earthly etherI
To whom shall I sing it It dwellsJ
In the house of my soul in fear ofK
Harsh earsL
-
-
When I look into my inner eyesM
I see the shadow of its shadowN
When I touch my fingertipsG
I feel its vibrationsO
-
-
The deeds of my hands heed itsP
Presence as a lake must reflectQ
The glittering stars my tearsR
Reveal it as bright drops of dewS
Reveal the secret of a withering roseF
-
-
It is a song composed by contemplationE
And published by silenceT
And shunned by clamorI
And folded by truthU
And repeated by dreamsV
And understood by loveK
And hidden by awakeningW
And sung by the soulX
-
-
It is the song of loveK
What Cain or Esau could sing itY
-
-
It is more fragrant than jasmineE
What voice could enslave itY
-
-
It is heartbound as a virgin's secretZ
What string could quiver itY
-
-
Who dares unite the roar of the seaA2
And the singing of the nightingaleB2
Who dares compare the shrieking tempestC2
To the sigh of an infantD2
Who dares speak aloud the wordsE2
Intended for the heart to speakF2
What human dares sing in voiceG2
The song of GodH2
