| And you would accept the seasons of your heart | G |
| even as you have always accepted the seasons that | H |
| pass over your fields | A |

| And you would watch with serenity through the | D |
| winters of your grief | I |

| Much of your pain is self chosen | J |

| It is the bitter potion by which the physician within | K |
| you heals your sick self | L |

| Therefore trust the physician and drink his remedy | M |
| in silence and tranquillity | M |

| For his hand though heavy and hard is guided by | N |
| the tender hand of the Unseen | O |

| And the cup he brings though it burn your lips has | A |
| been fashioned of the clay which the Potter has | A |
| moistened with His own sacred tears | A |
