Fall Of The Evening Star Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AB CD EF GH IJ KL MNO

Speak softly sun going downA
Out of sight Come near me nowB
-
Dear dying fall of wings as birdsC
complain against the gathering darkD
-
Exaggerate the green blood in grassE
the music of leaves scraping spaceF
-
Multiply the stillness by one soundG
by one syllable of your nameH
-
And all that is little is soon giantI
all that is rare grows in common beautyJ
-
To rest with my mouth on your mouthK
as somewhere a star fallsL
-
And the earth takes it softly in natural loveM
Exactly as we take each otherN
and go to sleepO
