The Canvas Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCC DDEE FFGH IIJJ

I want the new canvas of the day to look really goodA
and thus I start in the morning with a grateful moodB
with strokes of colour soft and sweet pastelC
I want to make a superb and pleasing aquarelleC
-
The heart with a good intention adds a few red flowersD
But oh what happens after only two or three hoursD
The greed of my ego causing here and there some tormentE
Splashing on the painting the hideous grey colour of cementE
-
I hope and pray that when I look tonightF
I ll have made the artwork look perfectly rightF
Perhaps looking like the most amazing flowery forestG
Filled with acts of kindness love and zestH
-
Oh my Creator full of grace to you I prayI
Guide me to make a masterpiece on the canvas of todayI
Free of all harshness and splashes of hard concreteJ
Just pleasure beauty harmony for the eye to meetJ
