Earth no longerA
hymns the CreatorA
the seven days of wonderA
the Garden is overA
all the stories are toldB
the seven seals brokenC
all that beginsD
must have its endingE
our striving desiringE
our living and dyingE
for Time the bringerA
of abundant daysF
is Time the destroyerA
In the Iron AgeG
the Kali YugaE
To whom can we prayA
at the end of an eraA
but the Lord ShivaA
the Liberator the purifierA
-
Our forests are felledH
our mountains erodedI
the wild placesJ
where the beautiful animalsK
found food and sanctuaryA
we have desolatedI
a third of our seasL
a third of our riversM
we have pollutedI
and the sea creatures dyingE
Our civilization sN
blind progressN
in wrong coursesJ
through wrong choicesJ
has brought us to nightmareA
where what seemsO
is to the dreamerA
the collective mindI
of the twentieth centuryA
this world of wondersM
not divine creationC
but a big bangE
of blind chanceP
purposeless accidentI
mother earth s childrenC
their living and lovingE
their delight in beingE
not joy but chemistryA
stimulus reflexQ
valueless meaninglessR
while to our machinesS
we impute intelligenceT
in computers and robotsU
we store informationC
and call it knowledgeV
we seek guidanceT
by dialling numbersM
pressing buttonsW
throwing switchesJ
in place of familyA
our companions are shadowsX
cast on a screenY
bodiless voices fleshless facesJ
where was the GardenC
a Disney landI
of virtual realityA
in place of angelsK
the human imaginationC
is peopled with foot ballersK
film stars media menZ
experts know allA2
television personalitiesK
animated puppetsK
with cartoon facesK
To whom can we prayA
for release from illusionC
from the world caveB2
but Time the destroyerA
the liberator the purifierA
-
The curse of MidasK
has changed at a touchC2
a golden handshakeE
earthly paradiseK
to lifeless matterA
where once was seed timeD2
summer and winterA
food chain factory farmingE
monocrops for supermarketsK
pesticides weed killersK
birdless springsK
endangered speciesK
battery hens hormone injectionsK
artificial inseminationC
implants transplants sterilizationC
surrogate births contraceptionC
cloning genetic engineering abortionC
and our days shall be shortI
in the land we have sownE2
with the Dragon s teethF2
where our armies ariseK
fully armed on our killing fieldsK
with land mines and missilesK
tanks and artilleryA
gas masks and body bagsK
our air craft rain downG2
fire and destructionC
our space craft broadcastI
lies and corruptionC
our elected parliamentsK
parrot their rhetoricE
of peace and democracyA
while the truth we denyH2
returns in our dreamsK
of ArmageddonC
the death wish the arms tradeI
hatred and slaughterA
profitable employmentI
of our thriving citiesK
the arms raceK
to the end of the worldI
of our postmodernI2
post ChristianC
post human nationsK
progress to the nihilA2
of our spent civilizationC
But cause and effectI
just and inexorableA2
law of the universeK
no fix of scienceK
nor amenable godI
can save from ourselvesK
the selves we have becomeJ2
At the end of historyA
to whom can we prayA
but to the destroyerA
the liberator the purifierA
-
In the beginningE
the stars sang togetherA
the cosmic harmonyA
but Time imperceptibleA2
taker awayA
of all that has beenK2
all that will beA
our heart beat your drumJ2
our dance of lifeL2
your dance of deathM2
in the crematoriumJ2
our high rise dreamsK
Valhalla UtopiaA
Xanadu Shangri la world revolutionC
Time has taken and soon will be goneN2
Cambridge Princeton and M I TA
Nalanda Athens and AlexandriaA
all for the holocaustI
of civilizationC
To whom shall we prayA
when our vision has fadedI
but the world destroyerA
the liberator the purifierA
-
But great is the realmO2
of the world creatorA
the world sustainerA
from whom we comeJ2
in whom we moveP2
and have our beingE
about us within usK
the wonders of wisdomJ2
the trees and the fountainsK
the stars and the mountainsK
all the children of joyQ2
the loved and the knownE2
the unknowable mysteryA
to whom we returnI2
through the world destroyerA
Holy holyA
at the end of the worldI
the purging fireA
of the purifier the liberatorA
