Rhyme Scheme: ABCDECFFFF AFFGFFHIJK LFCMNFKFOPFFQ

If you go deepA
Into the heartB
What do you find thereC
Fear fearD
Fear of the jaws of the rockE
Fear of the teeth and splinters of iron that tearC
Flesh from the bone and the moistF
Blood running unfeltF
From the wound and the handF
Suddenly moist and redF
-
If you go deepA
Into the heartF
What do you findF
Grief griefG
Grief for the life unlivedF
For the loves unlovedF
For the child never to be bornH
Th'unbidden anguish when the fair moonI
Rises over still summer seas and the painJ
Of sunlight scattered in vain on spring grassK
-
If you go deeperL
Into the heartF
What do you find thereC
Death deathM
Death tht lets all go byN
Lets the blood flow from the woundF
Lets the night passK
Endures the day with indifference knowing that all must endF
Sorrow is not forever ad senseO
Endures no extremitiesP
Death is the last Secret implicit within you the hidden the deepestF
Knowledge of all you will ever unfoldF
In this body of earthQ
